UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO – ATS
FACILITY Proposed
Project Completion: NA Client: University of Chicago Square Feet: Approximately 81,000 s.f. This is a Design
Build Proposal to replace the existing University of Chicago Facility structure. The site is a
vacant parcel adjacent to Washington Park about
2 miles from the main campus. The design program incorporates and maintenance shops around the
central storage and
inventory. Approximately 70 vans are parked interiorly space with Administration
Offices and Training Classrooms. The
building is a large warehouse with various subdivisions. Clerestory structures are placed in regular intervals to
infuse the natural light within the envelope. An interior courtyard is designed to enhance administrative offices with natural
light. This creates a natural quiet space for
employees. The envelope is clad
in precast and metal panels
decorative polychromatic precast panel faces Cottage
Grove with small windows. The main entry is a steel frame and metal. |
